The Voice Behind the Words

I am an author of fact and fiction. In my contemporary novel, I used fictional characters to tell the story of broken relationships, forgiveness, and peace with God and one another.  In my historical novel, I used actual characters, but I let these women tell their stories through fictional letters to today’s woman.

But God, in His Book, used  real people through 66 mini-authors to tell His true story as He inspired these men to write.  History becomes His Story – an actual and trustworthy account of the sequences of events that are validated in the history of the world regardless if man wants to erase or change  history to suit his agenda.

In God’s story, the people are real.  They had names; they had occupations; they had relationships.  These Biblical characters had trials, sorrows, and calamities in life just like we have today.

God’s Book is more than a narrative for our reading pleasure.  It hosts more than facts and figures.  His Book has a heart beat!  It is fast-paced, but lingers in just the right places so we can know the real people He writes about – the people who cried tears and laughed with joy, ones who strained under heavy burdens and rose up in victories, and those who wept because of disappointments and deep, unmet desires.  Others were challenged to what seemed impossible to achieve, and yet, they marched in the winners’ parade.

God’s Book, known as the Bible, portrays romance, love and marriage.  Tender times and brutal times.  It leaves no stone unturned.  It raises unanswerable questions – mysteries left only for its Author to know, and yet, His Book answers the important questions man has concerning God, His plan and His purpose for the world and the people of the world.  Questions like:  Who is God?  Why did He create me?  Why is there so much turmoil in the world?  Why doesn’t He heal everyone?  What is abundant life?  Why did Jesus have to die on the cross?  How do I get to heaven?

His Book is life-changing, inspiring, and filled with truth or consequences.  It expounds on wars and famines, diseases and natural disasters; it explores the trials and outcomes of real people who battled the woes of the world, just as we do today.  It tells of some who buckled under pressure and others who overcame that unseen enemy.  Stress has been around since time began.  However, it is racheting to new levels today.  But then, God’s Book declared these times of stress and chaos would come upon the earth.   God, however, assures His readers of His sovereignty, His love, His grace and mercy, and not to fear.  He gives us hope.  Hope that is real.

It is God’s Word and I wanted to present it as best I can.  But don’t take my word for it – read it for yourself, listen to the voice behind the Words, and draw your own conclusion.
