There is a great chasm separating the two realms of the dead – one is paradise and the other a place of torment. The rich man looked up and saw Abraham afar off and said to him, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”

“It is finished!” were not words of defeat. They are words of victory! Jesus accomplished the mission He was given by the Father – to pay the penalty of sin of all mankind.
Undone and So Broken
Life is interrupted by death and death is interrupted by life, and this life cannot be broken by eternity.
God is sovereign over life, over death, and over eternal life. He blesses in life, He comforts in death, and He delights to give believers eternal life!
