I turned and looked. The man stopped at the end of the driveway by the paper box. He stared at me as he slowly came up the driveway. Step by step. I stood at the front door – the doorbell just inches from my hand, but I could not ring the bell.

Grace shaded her eyes.  “What’s that in the distance?” Merci squinted.  “I don’t have a clue, but it looks like something or other in some trees.”   Curiosity got the best of them.  They stood up, brushed off the dirt, and hurried toward the structure that seemed to draw them with an intensity of the day’s sunshine.

Searching! Part 1

Grace fanned through the book and was astonished to see that each of the letters in the book was addressed to her.  Then, Merci paged through it and was equally surprised to see her name as the recipient of letters personally written and signed by various women from  long, long  ago.
