Riddles for Every Situation

Riddle: What is greater than God; more evil than Satan; a rich man wants it; a poor man has it; something that does not exist; if you eat it, you will die; and is outside the scope of God’s control? This riddle sets the table for this week’s blog.

The Big Bang TheoryThe Big Bang Theory first appeared in scientific form in 1931 in a paper by George Lemaitre, a Belgian cosmologist and Catholic priest. It is the primary explanation for how the universe began 13.8 billion years ago.  There was an explosion.  What exploded if there was nothing in existence yet? This theory makes sense to those who do not believe in the Creation Story.  Bang theorists visualize themselves at the beginning of the existence of the universe. Suddenly, light, land and seas, vegetation, sun, moon, stars, animals, birds, fish, and people appear out of nothing. Their imaginations do not consider that God is Spirit and is invisible to man. So, if they projected themselves to the beginning when things began to appear with no visible explanation for their existence, except, BANG! There it is! They simply could not comprehend an invisible God creating a vast, physical universe and all that it contains. Too bad they could not put on head phones and hear God say, “Let there be light.”

I wonder how the Big Bang theorists would have answered God if He were to speak out of the whirlwind as He did to Job saying, “Prepare yourself like a man. I will question you and you shall answer Me. Where were you when I laid the foundatins of the earth? Tell Me if you have understanding. Who determined its measurement? Surely you know. To what were its foundations fastened? Did you hear the angels shout for joy the day the earth was created? Who set a limit for the seas saying, ‘This far you may come, but no farther.’  Have you caused the dawn to know its place? Can you lead a guided tour to the place of light and darkness?” (Job 38)

And to the Bang theorists, God would ask,  “Tell Me, O man who imagined yourself to be there in the beginning. Surely you must know.”

Riddle: What did the Big Bang theorists say?  Answer: “Nothing.”

The Theory of EvolutionThe belief in the Theory of Evolution is that human beings are a result of evolution from inorganic molecules to the modern man of today. According to evolutionists, the earth took over 4.5 billion years to form itself, with the help of nature, to sustain a viable living organism. Evolutionists cannot comprehend the heavens and the earth coming into existence in a matter of six dayis. Just waiting for lab culture results can take days to get, they say, so they surmise the entire universe must have taken billions of years for all the cells to even be detectable let alone form themselves into a physical being or animal or vegetation. Evolutionists may believe that God started the process. How? By flipping a cell into a non-existent universe and then let nature takes its course?

Since atoms come together to form molecules which in turn unite to form cells, I would be curious to ask an evolutionist, “If God did not create the first cell, who did? And where did the atom/molecule/cell come from if not created by God?” “Are these cells of the same structure for humanity, oceans, rocks, and oxygen? If so, would not the DNA  be the same?” “In the evolution theory, the whole process took 4.5 billion years to evolve. When did you O evolutionist, start the count-down – before time began or after? If before, how did you gauge time into years to come up with 4.5 billion years?”

Riddle: What does an evolutionist say to God in response to Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth?”  Answer: “It’s all in the nature of things.”
