The Challenge

The prophets called on the name of Baal from morning till noon. “Baal answer us!” they shouted, but there was no response; no one answered.  And they danced around the altar they had made.
At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is in deep thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed.

The hypothetical questions below are questions people could ask – after the conversation of the weather and world events, that is. They are followed with appropriate answers that are relevant to today negating the statement that the Bible is old and out of date.

Prayer – God’s Will; Not Our Agenda

What do we need to learn before we bring our petitions to God so that we do not try to instruct Him on how and when to answer? This question is often overlooked, but we remember this very situation when Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane the night He was betrayed.
