With the seemingly out-of-control darkness swirling around us, and the threat to our very freedom to mention God, or to offer to pray for and with another sojourner, just think what may happen if we take our heads out of the sand. What if we wake up?

In the morning, Jacob realized he had been deceived and betrayed. He was enraged! Rachel was devastated! Jacob, the deceiver, was himself deceived and betrayed. Laban got what he wanted, but he had to use deception, betrayal, and trickery to do so.

The Last Supper

“Assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.”  Astonishing words that grabbed everyone’s attention!  Perplexed and filled with sorrow, several of the disciples asked, “Lord, is it I?”  Then, Judas asked, “Rabbi, is it I?”  Jesus locked eyes with Judas  ~ one had a secret and only the Other knew what it was.   “You have said it,” Jesus said.
