The Gate

The gatekeeper said, “You have come to my gate, but I do not have a key to open it.  Have you not heard that going to church, even if you attended regularly, is not enough?” 
And with those words ringing in his ears, the old man became sorrowful as he retreated from what he thought would be the right gate to heaven.

Lost and Found

I had a similar experience last Friday, except I found something that was not lost. My story began when on the day before my grandson’s wedding, I still had not found anything special to wear to his wedding.

Chariots of Fire

Picking the story up in verse 15: “When the servant of Elisha rose early in the morning and went out, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master!
