God’s answer shocked Habakkuk. God said, “Be utterly astounded! Indeed, I am raising up the Babylonians to come against the wayward people of Judah.” The attack was set at the appointed time. “It will surely come!” God said.
Habakkuk could not grasp that a holy God would use a greater evil to punish the evil of the people of Judah. But because God is righteous and just, He could not let the evil Babylonians go unpunished either. He would bring judgment on Babylon as well which resulted in their complete destruction as a nation. Habakkuk pleaded with God to renew His involvement with Israel and to have mercy in His wrath. He concluded by joyfully surrendering his perplexity to God’s higher purpose. (Habakkuk 1-3)
Today, the evil that surrounds us surpasses that of Habakkuk’s era – because the evil today is made legal, and therefore okay to do, by man’s standards – not God’s. As you know, on April 27, 2023 the governor signed three legislation bills. The first bill the governor enshrined made Minnesota a haven for out-of-state women and teenage girls to come here for their abortions (repoductive health care). She would be shielded from reprisals from their anit-abortion home states.
The second bill the govenor signed made Minnesota a refuge for trans-gender surgeries and other treatments (gender-affirming care) for all people including teenagers. These statutes ensure that the state’s existing protections remain in place no matter who sits on future courts. Minnesota shields trans-genders from legal consequences in other states. (North Dakota recently enacted a law creating felony penalties for health care providers who provide gender-affirming care to minors.)
The third bill to pass concerns conversion therapy. It outlaws organized attempts to try to change the minds of LBGTQ (lesbian, bi-sexual, gay, trans-gender and queer) into hetersexual thinking (males are males and females are females).
The govenor also signed a bill restoring voting rights of thousands of convicted felons which would give the Democratic Party thousands of extra votes at election time. Hot on the heels of this bill is the legalization of recreational marijuana – a drug considered harmless by some and a detrimental mind-altering and mood-altering drug by others.
All of this evil is preliminary to the financial terrorism that will be launched in July, 2023 which brings a significant move toward digital currency. Dave Kubal of Intercessors for America, says, “Saudi Arabia entered a trade alliance with China, Russia, India, and Pakistan to step away from further reliance on the US dollar. Regarding the $31.38 trillion national debt of America, Kevin Freeman, a leading expert on economic warfare and financial terrorism says, “FedNow is the operating system, and Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) which is the source code and forerunner for the software for the Mark of the Beast. The goal is the economic collapse of US currency as it races to a one-world currency. (FedNow is a complicated and instant payment service for financial institutions designed by the Federal Reserve. It requires monitoring of all money transactions supposedly to prevent fraud.) This all looks bleak. It is bleak, but not to believers who know God’s plan for end times.
All of this, and more not mentioned in this blog, may lead us to ask questions of God as Habakkuk did. I have observed several guidelines of many prayer warriors who bring their questions before the Lord. So, if anyone has questions for God, let him approach God with boldness without arrogance, honesty and humility, purpose without pride, sincerity and reverance, anguish without anger and without blame or accusations toward God. Do not question God’s authority – “Why did You…?” Rather, ask questions of God – “How can I …?” Do not demand an answer, but ask your question and wait quietly on the Lord. Worship while you wait. Pray diligently. Be proactive in sharing the Gospel. Time is short – make the most of it. Do not lose hope. Do not lose courage.
This blog is meant to give assurance that God is sovereign, He is in control, and He is at work despite what we see happening in Minnesota and around the world. Since God is for us, who can stand against us?
