When Herod the king heard the words “King of the Jews,” he immediately feared a threat to his rule and was bent on finding the child. He had no intention of worshipping or adoring this child. In his own insecurity, Herod secretly planned to kill this King so He would not be a challenge to his authority.

Anticipation
When the angels were gone, the shepherds made haste to go to Bethlehem. “The King was born in a stable?” “I thought He would be born in a palace.” “I thought the trumpet would sound, but angels are even better!” the shepherds huffed to one another, as they ran to see the Christ child.
Advent – What is it and Why is it Important?
We should not limit ourselves to thinking of the incarnation of Jesus’s birth to only one time a year, but we should allow ourselves to celebrate throughout the year, to rejoice in, and to meditate on the miracle that God the Son took on flesh and was born into the world He created.
