Why Do We Pray?

Answers to prayer are always a delight, amen? You may recall in my blog from last week, “Prayer in the Midst of Distress,” that I received a text from an out-of-town friend for her granddaughter who was diagnosed with Lymphoma and would have to have chemo 23 hours a day for 5 days then two weeks off and start over for 5 rounds.
Here’s the text I received from Carol this week asking for prayer for her granddaughter, Shelby.

Names, Labels, and Titles

Here’s a Biblical example of a label that carries a negative degrading tone. John 1:47 records the event when Philip found Nathanael and told him they had found the One whom the prophets had written about – Jesus of Nazareth! Nathanael’s flat response was, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”

Why Does God…

God’s plan unfolds from generation to generation and will be complete when God draws life on earth to a close and new life in eternity begins. His purpose is revealed to us in Revelation 21:3 that says, “”Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.”
